The minimalist aesthetics of the new K5 were created by the Suhl gunsmith, Franz Jäger, and his tilting block system (1906). The tilting block design, once manufactured, is extremely short and locks firmly — steel against steel, as always with Merkel. The K5 offers the precision and reliability of the Merkel falling block action in a compact, elegant package.
